Maria Dolan

Maria Dolan writes primarily on the environment, science, health, gardens and travel. She has been published in Smithsonian.com, Newsweek.com, Sierra Magazine, The Seattle Times, Salon.com, and elsewhere. She is a contributing writer to Seattle Magazine on environmental and home topics. Her co-authored guidebook Nature in the City: Seattle was described by the Seattle Times as a “first-rate guidebook...a treasure map to the city’s wild and not so wild places.” She is also the author of Outside Magazine’s Urban Adventure: Seattle.

She won a 2010 Society of Professional Journalism Northwest award for Environmental Affairs writing for her article "How Green Is Thy Lumber" (Seattle Magazine, Nov 2010)
