Lisa Dale Norton

Lisa Dale Norton is the author of the “elegant little book” Shimmering Images: A Handy Little Guide to Writing Memoir (Griffin/St. Martin’s Press) and the highly-respected literary memoir Hawk Flies Above: Journey to the Heart of the Sandhills (Picador/St. Martin’s Press).

She blogs for The Huffington Post as Author and Story Expert. Lisa is fascinated with the myriad ways in which narrative expresses itself in contemporary culture and is at work on a book that explores her fascination with the stories dominating our country today and the ways in which they can be written.

Lisa consults internationally with writers who are completing nonfiction book manuscripts. She serves both as Book Editor and Developmental Writing Coach.

Lisa teaches narrative nonfiction and memoir writing for the granddaddy of extension writing programs: the UCLA Extension Writers’ Program.

She lives in Santa Fe.
